Rookie in the Kitch...Chicken Fajita's and Fried Honey Banana's and Coconut Ice-cream

For dinner recently I made...

Salsa and Guacomole
Fried Onions
Sour Cream
Lettuce
Store bought Roast chicken- shredded
Prepping for fried banana's
Cooked on both sides 2 minutes ea
Plated with cinnamon and a healthy serving of Coconut Ice-cream

My Verdict: Praiseworthy. I call this the lazy man's fajita. Buy a roast chicken, shred it and assemble your fajita. What takes forever is if you opt to make your own quac and salsa. You can really speed things up buy purchasing the pre-made ones, they taste just as good. For dessert I made fried bananas and served it with the most delicious vegan coconut ice-cream.

Rookie in the Kitch...Old Favorite and Apple Dumplings

We had company over the weekend and I made my old favourite...
Plus a new dessert...
Right before baking...
After 40 minutes...
Plated with Vanilla Icecream...Yummo!

My Verdict: Praiseworthy. Thanks to Chrissy Tiegan's blog I found this delicious recipe. I didn't have a 9 x 13 baking dish so used 2 ramekins I had instead, along with a 9 x 9. Worked just fine! I also used about 3/4 of the can of Mountain Dew. My apples were also on the smaller side so I doubled them up in some. The end result was a mix between a churro/apple pie. I'll call this one a lazy man's apple pie :D This was on the sweeter side for me but everyone else loved it! Highly recommend if you have someone who loves apple pie!

Delivery Arrival...Thann

Safe arrival...

My Verdict: TBC. As mentioned on my IG, I purchased these on Thursday Oct 4th online from the  Thann  website. I chose the option 1-3 day delivery, and didn't receive the order until a week and a bit later(came tuesday 15th). Had I known it would take forever I would have just picked the cheapest option for delivery. I did email them on the 5th day inquiring about the order, but received no reply.
My initial thoughts: The fragrance is STRONG, especially the soap bar. I haven't smelled these before and if I had, I probably wouldn't purchase. The sizes are small and it's expensive. Having said that, I'll try them out and keep you posted.

Recent Finds...Stuart Weitzman

While killing time at the mall recently, I stumbled upon a great find!
Sneak peaked on Instagram
Stuart Weitzman Mezzamezza 50/50 boots
Leather front, stretch back
Below the knee with a 1.5" heel
Back height 15", front 15.5" approx
12" top opening, not stretched
These fit perfect in the calf, but are still a bit loose in the ankle...
No helping that as I have chicken ankles :"(

My Verdict: Praiseworthy. For those of you who have the same trouble as I in finding a pair of knee high boots fitting in the calf look no further. I was killing time recently in Brentwood Mall and popped by Ingledews Clearance store. I first spotted these and immediately tried them on. A perfect fit! I had wanted the thigh high version but could never find my size. They also had the SW almond toe pointed high heeled version, but not in my size. I did try on several pull up leather knee highs but all were loose in the calf(there were Cole Haan ones that were super comfy and had your usual high heel). I got these on sale for half off, they are on the expensive side but you do get what you pay for. The leather is butter soft and they are super comfy. These will be perfect with skirts, shorts, leggings and skinny jeans!

Recent Finds...Victoria's Secret

Feel a bit awkward showing my drawers on the net, but hey everyone needs and wears them so whatever!
Very Sexy Kimono $54 on sale for $34.99

My Verdict: Praiseworthy. I finally got the chance to stop by the new Victoria's Secret on Robson. They did a fine job with the renovations and you could not tell this once housed cd's and dvd's... I was inclined to stop by this weekend because of the cotton panty promo 7 for $28. The ladies were really helpful, and I found one who mentioned the promo had no limit and helped me scour for more sizes and styles! So you could purchase as many as you pleased for $4 each. Needless to say I went overboard! Now I'm set for Chinese New Year next year( buying new underwear each new years is good luck!). I also found a robe that has been on my wishlist forever, but I was too cheap to pay the regular price. Got this on sale for $34.99! Overall, it's a girl's candy shop and gentlemen if you want something nice for your lady to wear stop by and check out the full sets! Sooo sexy! Extremely happy we now have our own VS in Vancity, finally!

Delivery Arrival...Sephora

TGIF + Hope everyone has a wonderful Turkey weekend!!! It's a Long weekend woot hoot!!!

As mentioned here, I've finally got my order in and have yet to try all of the items...

Samples

My Verdict: Praiseworthy. So far what I have tried is the Tarte airbrush foundation, I do love the coverage but it does get messy applying it from such a teeny pot. I'm using a dual fibre brush from Mac 186 for application.

Another item I'm loving so far is Too Faced  tan without the twinkle. This was advertised when I was checking out and I'm glad it worked out. Usually my impulse purchases never do lol I'm loving the colour on this and it applies beautifully. The result a natural flush or chiselled cheekbones. I'm using my Nars ITA brush for application.

Lastly, I've taken the Stila liner for a test run. I thought the colour would have been more deep black, I guess going over the liner twice would deepen the colour. I however, would prefer the first initial swipe to be it rather than going over it many times. I do like the precision tip, but it's like the Eve Pearl liner I have(which I don't like for the same reason, that and the colour dries out quick). Still on the fence, but will be on the look out for another liquid liner.

Fall Picks...Booties

I picked up these boots a few weeks ago, but the weather has been nice so I haven't had a chance to take these for a test run...

Saw these last year in suede at the Nordstrom sale but didn't have time to try on in my size. They were a beautiful grey colour, but wouldn't last in the rain here(Vancity!)...
Bought these in a 5, and they fit on the smaller side. I like how the shaft is ankle height, perfect to pair with skirts or skinny jeans/leggings.
